Laboratories

This is a busy month as various laboratories are starting soon. I am having two labs this week and two more next week.

2nd year is not as relaxing as 1st year anymore. Even my friends are keeping themselves busy by their school works and studies. I guess I have to spend more time focusing on my studies.

I hope that I can cope with everything this year. It is serious time.

2nd Year

I'm already back in the UK for a week. Nothing much changed over here after the riot.

I have moved into a new Hall. Besides just a 5 minutes walk to my school, it is also convenient for me shop for groceries and stuffs as the city center and china town are just a stone's throw away.

I'm not really close to my flat mates as we didn't spent much time together. I just don't really enjoy the idea of going out to drink and party as they do. I think that makes me sort of a loner.

My course starts next week and I'm looking forward to it. Those busy days will start soon.

The Upcoming 2nd Semester

Summer is coming to an end now. How do you spent your holidays? I actually did nothing much during this summer. Mom started nagging me since last month as I spent most of my time in front of my computer.

Due to the slow internet speed, I can't really abuse my download speed. The unstable line also denied me from playing my favorite online game - DoTA. So, I have to play it offline with AI which I find it utterly dumb and unchallenged. The internet only provide me for facebooking, reading news and chat with my friends.

I don't really meet up with my ex-college friends in KL frequently as they are always busy with their studies. Besides that, my parents also dislike the idea of me staying at my sis' place in KL.

I was asked to do housework sometimes and follow my dad back to his hometown every fortnight to clean my grandmother's house. It was a job that nobody will enjoy doing.

I'm looking forward to go back to the UK as I will not waste my time on doing things that I don't enjoy. At least the internet line over there is better and I can meet up with my university friends almost daily.

Cbox

I realized that there some people started to spam my cbox with advertisements. I don't know them but it seemed that they were misusing the cbox. I don't think that there is a purpose to keep the cbox anymore as it was not used properly since a year ago. However, I decided to keep those nostalgic messages posted.

I am quite surprised that there are people that drop by my blog and some even commented on the chat box. I really appreciate it even though some were just blog walking. Therefore, I would like to take this chance to say a big THANK YOU to you.

I am asked to provide tuition lesson for my brother but otherwise there is nothing much to be mentioned about my days in Melaka.

I have arrived in KL today in the evening as I have to meet up with my friends before we head towards Penang on the 7th. I guess that it is time for us to party and enjoy ourselves after months of studies. So I'll see you all next week!

PS: My sister and I have been arguing about the pronunciation of the word "either" and "neither". Do you pronounce "either" as "I-ther" or "E-ther" and "neither" as "NI-ther" or "NE-ther"? Feel free to comment about it.

Boring Summer

This is my 2nd week in Malaysia. I can say that I have adapt everything here again. However, I don't really know what to do during this summer. My everyday routine is eat, bath and sleep as there is no entertainment over here in Melaka. The internet speed is slow and there are no place to hang out. Luckily, I went KL last week for a few days to meet up with my sis and my friends and I really enjoyed it. We are back here in Melaka now but we are going up again two weeks later.

Some of my friends organized a trip to Penang on the 7th of July. I heard that this trip will be a big one as most of my ex-classmates are joining. Therefore, I am really looking forward to it.

Malaysia Here I Come

Finally, my exams are over and I've finished my 1st year over here in Manchester. It was fast as the number of holidays I had and will be having is almost equal to the number of days I spent on schooling. I'm having my three months summer break now so I decided to go back Malaysia to spent this summer with my family and friends. Before going back, I'm heading to London for a day just to meet up with my college friends.

Packing is seriously a pain in the ass. I've done packing for the last few days and there are just so many things to pack. The worst thing is moving your belongings from a place to another. It causes your hands and legs to ache. I've stored my possessions in some of my friends' house. It is very kind of them for not charging me. However, I think I might pay to store in a storage company next year as it will solve all the trouble.

Ester Break

Spring has arrived finally. The higher temperature now causes flowers and trees to grow again. I'm having my ester break now. It is actually quite late as some of my friends had had theirs one week ago. Well, nothing much actually happened last month and I suppose it will be the same until I go back to Malaysia on the 12th of June. I will be having my exams two weeks after my three weeks break. In another word, I'll face the final year exams in 5 weeks time. So I might spent more time on studies during this holiday. I received my grades for my 1st semester exams last month and I am quite satisfied with it. I just hope that I can keep up with it.

Happy Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year over here in UK is quite "dead" actually. Of course it is related to the Chinese population in UK. I can't feel the new year mood this year. There aren't any new year decorations on the street and houses. Maybe there is something going on at china town but it is quite a distance from my hall. I did attend a Chinese New Year gathering in my hall but it turned up to be quite disappointing. The music player was not working and the food was bad. I miss those days back in Malaysia that me and my family had a reunion dinner together. I guess one will only appreciate something after losing it. Last but not least, I missed my parents cooking and also Malaysian food.

Life Is Not A Bed of Roses

Our life is always full of ups and downs. There will be pleasure and sorrow. Everyone experienced different problems and situations before and I experienced a big obstacle during my A-levels.

Fate can be cruel. I was given a conditional offer from Imperial College London which require

• A for Physics
• A* for Maths
• A for either Chemistry and Accounting

I did my best during the A-levels and I was hoping to get into this university. However, I was not given the result that I expected.

• A* for Maths
• A for Chemistry
• A for Accounting
• B for Physics

The B nearly kill of all my As. I'm rejected from my firm and insurance offer and being thrown into clearing.

Both universities replied me quite late which give me limited time to find a suitable university in clearing. However, I managed to receive an offer from The University of Manchester but this is not the end of it. Due to my late offer, I was given an accommodation which is far from my university. To make things worst, my CAS number took quite a long time to be processed.

Without the CAS number, I can't apply for my UK visa early. The process for UK visa is so complicated and long that my dad and I have to travelled from Melaka to KL again and again at 5 am as the queuing line starts at 7am and ends at 3pm. That is not all. Due to the amount of holidays in November, there is a huge delay on my visa and I have to alter my air ticket.

Thankfully, the blessing comes after that and I had my visa and a safe flight to UK although I missed up some of my orientation days.

The point of this brief story is just to tell you guys out there to never give up when you are facing any troubles and always believe in God.

Happy New Year

Ah!!! I've finally revived my blog after months. Credits to Michael Poon who keep asking me to update it. By the way, I would like to wish everyone a happy new year and share a few stories of mine and some on the next posts.

I've managed to achieved part of my dream as a was a young boy - further my study in UK. Yes it may sound silly but I guess most of you guys have the same dream as me. Yes, no, maybe?

It is currently snowing over here in UK which is a nice experience for me to observe the beauty of the snow. However, the cold is sometimes unbearable and I have to stay in my room most of the time. I get bored and ended up playing DotA with Fred, Gary and Michael.

Yeah, I miss those times in Taylors where you and your friend meet up most of the time and having a lot fun together. I will always remember those jokes from you guys out there especially Gary, the class joker.

Besides that, I also miss Malaysian food. (Gary and Michael stop sending me photos of Malaysian food) Hopefully, I am able to come back to Malaysia during summer and meet up with you guys again. I bet you know what is going to happen next. Someone is gonna to get his ass kicked! Say What!

Prom Night

It was an awesome night at J.W.Marriott. Everyone dressed up in their Sunday best to attend the Atlantis Odyssey. The environment was just nice and we have awesome performances on the stage. However, the food served was not up to our expectations and the dance floor was too small. Most of the time, we are busy taking pictures with each other and teachers as this prom is also our farewell party.

Not forget to mention that Fred won the best dressed for the prom. We are proud of him for winning something for PE5!

After the prom, those who stayed overnight at Marriott went clubbing at a club located at Cangkat. The entrance fees and the price for the Chivas was reasonable but the dance floor was a little too packed. It was an epic night and some of us get drunk so badly.

After clubbing, some of us decided to go for supper at a mamak restaurant but they ended up visiting K.F.C.

The next morning, those early birds went for breakfast at a bakery just a stone throw away from our hotel. After everyone woke up and got ready, we checked out from the hotel and went for a movie at Pavilion. The A-team was a good movie. However, some of us fell asleep during the movie!

It was a tyring but interesting night out. I think some of us need some serious rest for the next few days. Love you people, always!

It's Over!

It's party time! A2 examinations are finally over. After one and a half years of suffer, we finally got rid of it!

We tried to play DotA in the library but it was disappointing. We have to leave the computer lab before the game starts as some lectures needed to give some talk to the new intakes.


I'm really looking forward to the prom and other plans that are coming up. I just want to enjoy with my friends for my last few days in KL.

PS: I really miss you guys out there.

Am I Ready?

Both Chemistry and Accounting are really making me sick as both aren't my favourite subjects. Bored to the max!

I kinda miss my friends. They went missing as examinations are closing by and I hardly see anyone online. No friends online = no chat; no chat = boring. DotA? No! Not till exams are over.

Facing A Road Block

Finally, I'm back here again. Nothing actually catches my attention in these couple of months, probably I'm too stressed up on focusing on my A2 final exams. I have chemistry and accounting coming up next back to back. It sounds insane but I've gone through the similar situation for physics and maths so I think I am able to handle it. I hope all the best for you all out there who are facing examinations too. Work hard to aim for the best and may God bless you all!

A-level is coming towards and end. Have you all plan for your future? Most of us are going in different directions and in the end we are going to say goodbye to each other. One and a half year is a short period but I have make lots of friends and learn new things. Sometimes, I may have done something wrong or offended some of you. I would like to apologize for my mistakes and misbehavior.

I'm also looking forward to the prom night. This might sound funny but I've never been to one before. I know there will be an after party too and it will be an amazing night.

Home Sweet Home

After the trial exams, I went back to Melaka. It is nice to spent time with my family members after so many months.

Melaka is really a quiet city. Is a nice place to relax but you might get bored easily.

Well, since only two outstation persons (Fang Yan Kai and his girlfriend, Lim Wei Shuang) visited my house before, I decided to show some part of my house.

This lovely piano has accompanied me through the time when I am learning piano. Kinda miss it.

Pan Mee

I'm sorry for not update my blog for quite sometime because of my upcoming trials exams.

During this week, my friends and I visited two pan mee shops. They are Face to Face and JoJo's kitchen.


I'm sure that everyone had tried Face to Face before. If you haven't, do not hesitate.

During our last visit to Face to Face, my friend, Suan, broke a chip of the table. Guess what, he then mixed it with the charcoal on the table. Nice one Suan!

A few days after our visit to Face to Face, My group study friends, Mahaan, Michael and Fang joined me at JoJo's kitchen for dinner to cure Mahaan's crave for the pan mee over there.

Preparing For A2 Trial

A2 Trial is just around the corner. Have you started your revision?

I started my revision but sometimes I felt very boring. Most of the time I ended up slacking or playing DotA. Can anyone provide me a good solution?

Some of my friends suggested group study. It sounds like a good idea but we have to find a venue and a suitable date and time.

Personally, I too enjoy studying after school. However, I don't enjoy studying in the library. I prefer better environment and places with lesser people such as Starbucks. =)

I think I better start the ball rolling now. Sorry for abandoning my blog for quite some time.

Plural And Singular

Plural And Singular are basic grammar of English. However, most of us still make these simple mistakes.

Today, Eric, Fang and Ee Kwan made these mistakes during our Physics class. They wrote "safety precautions" but only wrote down one safety precaution. Nobody actually notice it until Gary pointed it out. Thumbs up everyone!

Many people misuse "person" and "people". "People" is the plural of "person". Sometimes we too use the word "persons".
Eg:
Waiter: How many person?
Fred: Two people/persons.

I think I'll end up having English lesson if I continue but I do hope this clear things up for you all.

Joining The Paul Frank Gang

I went shopping with my friends at Pavilion yesterday. It was actually a sudden plan. This was my first time and I was impressed of the shops available over there. They have brands that I have never heard before all the way to the end of the road.

I had my dinner at Pepper Lunch. They served grilling style food here.
